1. Store Candles in a Cool, Dry Place
When a candle is not in use, keep it in a cool, dry area away from heat sources. A shelf, cabinet or shaded section of your room is usually a better choice than a windowsill.
Avoid leaving candles inside a parked car, close to a stove or beside an appliance that produces heat. Warm conditions can soften wax and may affect decorative details.
Store container candles upright on a flat surface so the wax and decorative elements remain properly positioned.
2. Keep Candles Away From Direct Sunlight
Strong sunlight can warm the wax and may cause candle colors to fade over time. This is particularly noticeable with colorful fruit, floral and dessert-inspired designs.
Natural light is wonderful for displaying and photographing your candles, but prolonged direct exposure is best avoided. Choose a location with soft, indirect light when using a candle as part of your home decor.

3. Let a Warm Candle Return to Room Temperature

Avoid placing a lit candle near open windows, air-conditioning vents or fans. Moving air can make the flame flicker, smoke or burn unevenly.

6. Give the Candle Time to Cool
Do not touch or move a candle while the wax is liquid. Extinguish the flame and wait until the wax and container have cooled completely before moving, covering or storing the candle.
Never use water to extinguish a candle. Water can cause hot wax to splash and may expose the container to a sudden temperature change. Use a candle snuffer when available, or gently extinguish the flame according to the product instructions.
Before leaving the room, confirm that the flame is fully extinguished and the wick is no longer glowing.
7. Keep the Surface Clean
Dust can collect more quickly when candles are displayed as decor. Once the candle is completely cool, gently clean the surface and container with a soft, dry cloth.
Avoid sharp tools, aggressive cleaners or excessive pressure around detailed wax decorations. These can scratch the container or damage the candle's carefully crafted elements.
When the candle is not being displayed, keeping it inside its original packaging can help protect it from dust, sunlight and accidental damage.
